I know I haven't posted the last two days, the truth is I have been so busy talking to people and we had a business opportunity meeting last night, as well as a mastermind meeting afterward. I can tell during days 4 & 5 I spoke with 5 people very seriously about our business. Only one was a definite no, and the others are all scheduled to be followed up within the next few days to a week.
The post are going to start getting interesting because the focused follow up is about to start happening mixed with prospecting! Then where it will get really interesting is when I am sponsoring, prospecting and following up!
I just want to take a minute to tell you about a personal thing in my life this morning. Our family loves animals, we lost our bearded dragon Barney this morning. It happened on a day when my husband was gone to his job(he is a pilot and works out of state) and the kids are with their biological mom. I can tell you there is nothing worse than feeling responsible for having to tell the family of the loss of a pet, especially the kids.
The CD's I am still listening to is Beach Money by Jordan Adler

Sunday
Day 3 of the MLM Prosperity Project with Tim and Poni Altvater
Check out MLM Prosperity Project with Tim and Poni Altvater here: http://www.mlmprosperityproject.com/fe/13910-roadmap-part-1
I spent about an hour listening to a CD this afternoon. It was my plan to take Sunday's off, but to tell the truth, I can't help myself with, I have to listen to my Cd's! I love them!
So, It was getting to be around 8:30pm and I hadn't talked to anyone yet and even though I was going to take Sundays off, I kept thinking to myself, how hard could It be to talk to 2.5 people a day. So I told my husband I was craving some ice cream and off to the Magic Freeze we went. So, we were standing in line I was looking around but could not get myself motivated. More to the point I was trying to figure out how to separate a person out of the crowd. Not sure why I want to do this, but for me it is easier.
Well, we finished our ice cream, got in the car and were getting ready to leave. I was thinking to myself it is still early out west, I can make some phone calls. That is when a man approached the car and asked to take a picture of it. We have a 2010 SS Camaro that is yellow with black stripes. The guy said he texted his business partner about it who loves camaros and was on his way. I said business partner, (light bulb) What do you do? We will wait, we don't mind. He told me they resold products online. I flat out said I am in multilevel marketing. I am bold, and blunt. I was ready to explain also. Anyway, he was intrigued. As it turned out he was an Amway distributor, but we had a great conversation. Then his partner showed up with his wife. I talked with both of them, they were his upline. The wife was so nice. We talked about cold prospecting and about MLM in general. Then we traded business cards. I told her my "why" which I will also share with you in this post.
The lesson I learned tonight is that while every person you talk to might not be a fit for what you are doing, that doesn't mean you won't meet some nice people thatt you want to stay in touch with, and you might learn something new! The wife and I are going to stay in touch!
Now I told you I would share my "Why" with you:
The reason I am in MLM and doing the MLM Prosperity Project is because I have a deep burning desire to help as many people as I possibly can achieve their dreams. I want to see them empower themselves both personally and professionally. To know that I could have a hand in that means the world to me!
I feel the MLM Prosperity Project will allow me to grow a team so that I may live out my "Why"

I Could Sell Ice to an Eskimo, But I Won't
So I have talked about accidental recruiting when you're out with friends and they know what you do they see your happiness and success and just can't help themselves, they want a piece of it too.
But what about the friend who has told you what they are looking for and then let you know you are not a good fit. You have given them the "opportunity", but they have decided it is just not for them. They way I look at it is this, it is not my place to twist your arm to join my team. The truth is, I can sell ice to an Eskimo, but as soon as I leave his igloo, he will realize he didn't need it, and I'll lose my integrity. This is the last thing I want to do with my business that am so carefully building.
Everyone has their reasons for why they choose or choose not to go into direct marketing, and then what company they decide to partner with. As long as you provided the information to your "prospect", answered any questions they may have, and used the tools provided to you from the company to explain the business, if a person is ready, then they will sign on. If they are not ready and you hard sell them, you risk them dropping out within a month or two, or not signing up at all. Then, even if circumstances in their life change and they are now ready for this adventure, you have destroyed your integrity and the trust they had in you and they will look for someone else to partner with. You will also risk losing a customer, if they were a consumer of your product. But worst of all, you could lose a friend, and that person will tell other people the next time they hear about your company, "Oh Yeah, I had someone try to sell me on that once. Couldn't shake her!" Not good for you or your company.
So my advice to you is listen. I know you are excited about your business, but don't be so excited that you become deaf to what others are trying to tell you. Just because this may not be the perfect fit for one person, does not mean that the next person you run into that very same day won't want to sign up the minute they see the company. Remember, this is not about filling slots, its about building relationships!
Always stay positive and excited when you talk to others even if it is not about your business. People will see this and wonder what it is that you are so happy about and soon they will be coming to you and asking you about what you do.
Above all, maintain your integrity. This is YOUR business, YOUR future, YOUR life!
So You Can Lead a Horse to Water
Isn't it funny how you know what works, you can do what works, and you can share with everyone else what works. I think this blog is more about learning to let go. You put the information out there and see if it catches an updraft and takes flight or not.
I have always been one of those people, that when I find something that works, I really dive in 100%. It may take me a very long time to do it, but when I do, I get it done. Now, I am at a point where I want to share what I have learned about procrastinating, about becoming not emotional about something that should be business, and about how to work smarter not harder. But I have to remember that it took me a long time to get to this point, and I still have a long way to go. So I can't expect anyone else that I share my so-called wisdom with to jump right on the bandwagon. I just need to remember, all I can do is supply the information and it is up to the recipient to do with it what they will. I can't be like the little kid who gets a new puppy and holds on to it too tight and hugs it so much that I smother it and it turns around and bites me.
II have to learn to let go. I can lead the horse to water, but the horse has to be thirsty before it will drink.

VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR!!!
Okay, So I did it, VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I wasn't a radio star, but I finally got over my web cam fear. I uploaded my first video to my YouTube channel Freedom From Corporate, and yes, you too can check me out!!! just click here: http://www.youtube.com/user/FreedomFromCorporate and you can see that I had nothing to fear but fear itself, well, and a shaky camera. I will admit, it took about 10 takes, those Hollywood actors have tougher jobs than I thought. I didn't realize how hard it was.
Well, anyway, I worked at it and I overcame and I too am a video star, sort of!

Youtube Video, Worse Than Putting Eyedrops in a Bearded Dragon
So I am sitting here in my PJ's on the sofa with my dog Elvis snoozing by my side. I am contemplating my first youtube video. I have webcam fright!!! How is this possible??? I video chat with the kids when I am on vacation. I video chat with my husband when he is working. Why am I afraid of the webcam now. I have watched hundreds of other people do it. It looks so easy!!!
I think I have to just psych myself out, I can do this, I used to get up in front of hundreds of people and speak, I have even been on TV before, so no more fooling around, I will do this. I am strong, I am invincible, I AM WOMAN! Yes, Hellen Reddy is playing in the back of my mind...
Besides, it can't be any worse than trying to put eyedrops in a bearded dragon's eyes, and yes, I have had to do that too!
Stay tuned, Youtube star coming soon!!!
